i wanna be free..

...like parachutes.

- there are no problems in the air
- you only feel yourself
- things are so little and look different, but still beautiful from above
- endorphins are running through your body
- it only lasts for seconds.

I should try that one day!

Banff Mountain Film Festival

Yesterday I went to the first night of the BANFF mountain film festival and it was amazing. You see seven outdoor movies, that trade all the different sections of the outdoorbusiness and are technical different done. But check it out by yourself.
To wake up your curiosity I posted the trailers:

Blue Obsession by Alan Gordon and Jordan Halland  has got great pictures and is about iceclimbing at a glacier in Alaska. There are no routes, because the glacier is  always moving and creates new walls. The  play between the frozen and the melted water is impressively pictured. Alan Gordon seems to be sometimes a bit crazy, when you see him freeclimbing up the ice as if he´s walking through his living room.

Towers of Ennedi by Renan Ozturk with Mark Synnott, Alex Honnold and James Pearson
is the  contrast to the cold Alaska. Their climbing up needles in the desert of Chad. No one ever did that and no one was ever on top of those needles and no one had the 360°-view, they had. It´s a place in the middle of nowwhere, 3 days travel to the airport at least.  The movie showed the landscape and its standing, while time is running. (Also check out James Pearson´s Blog)

23 Feet by Allie Bombach  makes you think about your lifestyle a lot. Allie and two friends decide to sell all their stuff, live in a 7-metres caravan, just do, what they want and go, where life guides you. On their way they meet some dropouts, that tell their story and their of life. They´re all different, but have the love of nature and the simple life in common.
For me this was the movie, that made me think the most. Our world is too material and I like the idea of living just with, what you need. You don´t need to be alone in wilderness to do that!

All.I.can. by Sherpas Cinema
is a movie, that lives of the technical features. You can see, that Sherpas Cinema are professionals. I like the style of modern ski movies. It hasn´t got an serious background and is amusing. I like it!

Chasing water by Pete McBride
is an impressive movie about the Colorado River and its shrinking. Pete McBride makes great pictures of the landscape, humans made.

treeverse by John Waller with Brian French and Will Koomijan
is about two treeclimbers, that want to climb 1 kilometre within 5 days or less without touching the ground. and they did it, even if the weather wasn´t with them. John Waller made that documentation, that shows the technical challenges and the soul of the trees, they love.

Origins: Obe and Ashima by Josh Lowell with Ashima Shiraishi, Obe Carrion
shows the drill of the future boulder talent Ashima, who is nine years old. It shows the psychological pressure, a climber is exposed, and also the inner relaxation, the girl has. I don´t know, whether I should admire or commiserate her. Maybe that´s the intention of Josh Lowell.

The deer inside us

I like the colorscheme of the new alprausch-campaign. It´s interesting, how the deer and the chaser-style together with an nature-style come from grandmas living room in our clothes and accesoires. check also out alprausch oder google "deer fashion". You can see, that also the runways are using the deer-look. It´s an hommage to the home-country-feeling.

Spring-cleaning

Kaltdruck

Pink Flamingos, that are in opposition to their colour not happy, are standing on a round place, that is in opposition to its nature made out of concrete.

Christmaspresent from my brother

I like drawing faces

Today I´m tidiing up my room a bit, because I´m moving to Switzerland in two weeks. What a chance to sort out things. I like digging in old stuff. I took some photos of the artificial stuff, I found. Maybe it helps me to throw it away, because I´m a messy in some kind of way. For example I found a box with plastic bags. Well, I won´t throw them away, bit use them for rubbish.
I recently read something about that theme. It said, you should take out three boxes: in one goes the flea market stuff, in one goes the treasure and in one go the throw-away-things. I´m sceptically, that it works. You need to go through it in three months again and now throw away stuff, you didn´t need in that time.
Enjoy it!

Be my valentine.
